Following the success we achieved at Clàssicand in May with this magnificent oratorio by Händel, this August we are bringing back the score at another festival where we always enjoy a great reception, the Torroella de Montgrí Festival.
If last year we opened the festival with Giuseppe riconosciuto, this year we will once again meet on the stage of Espai Ter with a few good friends to present our rendition of this parable about the fleeting nature of beauty and the necessity of prioritizing virtue and wisdom over pleasure. Joining us will be Xavier Sabata (countertenor) and Juan Sancho (tenor), who will reprise their roles as Disinganno and Tempo, respectively, as well as sopranos Núria Rial (Piacere) and Sunhae Im (Bellezza). As you can see, we will be in familiar company, as we have collaborated with all of them on various occasions. We are convinced that together we will turn this concert version performance into an unforgettable event.
Join us on August 3 in Torroella de Montgrí to (re)discover a wonderful score full of great moments such as "Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa" (indeed, the precursor to "Lascia ch’io pianga"), "Tu del ciel ministro eletto," or "Un pensiero nemico di pace." Our conductor, Dani Espasa, who in May inaugurated the Händel Festival in Halle, will once again offer a memorable version of this essential piece.
